Rock Hammer

Rock Hammer

I designed this hammer in Design Technology inspired by childhood fossil hunting expeditions in Lyme Regis. It is constructed of steel which I machined using lathes and a pillar drill I also used a variety of hand tools such as tap and die and hacksaws. Initially drawing the design on paper I measured and cut the steel, before machining the head and handle into shape, using files to refine the point on the back, before using a polisher to make it stand out. This project demonstrates my proficiency in using power tools and bringing technical drawings to life.
